How are these estimates calculated?

Every number above comes from your inputs and the formulas below. No black box — here's exactly what we do with what you entered.

You give us three numbers: your transitions per month (or the census we estimate them from), your current SIA units billed per transition, and your SIA rate. We compare that to 23 EOL units per transition, which is the benchmark Vantage programs work toward rather than a reimbursement ceiling or a CMS target. If you're already above it, we hold your own number instead of inflating the estimate. Your capture percentage is your current units divided by 23, the share of the benchmark you're already reaching.
Average daily census × 17% gives roughly one transition per 6 patients a month, based on what Vantage programs see. If you know your real number, enter it and it overrides our estimate.
Monthly opportunity = (23 − your current units) × your transitions × your SIA rate, annualized. Same patients and staff, just billing for care you're already delivering. We default to the CMS FY2026 national SIA rate ($17.44/unit); enter your local CBSA rate to use that instead.
One SIA unit equals 15 minutes of nurse or social worker time at the bedside. Added units × 15 minutes × monthly transitions × 12 gives you the annual time. That time is the care itself, not a stand-in for it.
Programs running a prediction tool average about 5 points on HVLDL. Programs without one average about 9, though that gap comes from a single client and should be read as directional, not a hard benchmark. Use your own HQRP HVLDL rate if it's already lower than the default.
Vantage clients cut missed EOL visits roughly 25% relative to their own starting point (observational, not a controlled trial). If you're missing a lot today, this is where you'll feel it most. Under about 1%, there's little room left to gain.
